204 – Triassic Parks

A programe visiting the main parks of the region. Over 2 days we travel through more than 70 million years of our planet's geological history, visiting sites that show the complete Triassic period: Parque Nacional Talampaya and Parque Provincial Ischigualasto (San Juan). Parque Nacional Talampaya y el Parque Provincial Ischigualasto (San Juan).

DAY	Day's Detail
1	Arrival in La Rioja, welcome transfer, and check-in at your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
2	La Rioja – Valle de la Luna – Villa Unión. Depart after breakfast for Ischigualasto Provincial Park (Valle de la Luna), where you will explore the park’s remarkable 3-hour internal circuit in our own vehicles. Along the way, admire extraordinary formations shaped by wind and time, including the Worm, Painted Valley, the Bowling Court, the Submarine, the Mushroom, and the Red Cliffs. In the afternoon, continue to Villa Unión for overnight accommodation.
3	Excursion to Talampaya National Park. After breakfast, depart for the park’s visitor center, where guests may choose among several experiences. The most popular is the classic Talampaya Canyon circuit, a 2.5-hour journey in park vehicles through the riverbed and beneath the park’s towering red canyon walls. Highlights include petroglyphs, native flora and fauna, and spectacular formations sculpted by erosion, such as the Faces, the Sentinel, the Wise King, the Gothic Cathedral, the Tower, and the Monk. Alternative activities such as trekking or mountain biking may also be available. Return to La Rioja in the afternoon for overnight accommodation.
4	Breakfast and departure transfer to the airport or bus terminal.
